Employee Appreciation Day is just around the corner, and it’s a perfect time for organizations to recognize and appreciate their employees’ hard work and dedication.

It’s no secret that employees who feel valued and appreciated are more motivated, engaged, and likely to stay with their current employer. Here are some statistics to back it up:

According to a survey by Globoforce, 78% of employees said being recognized motivates them in their job. Additionally, in a study by O.C. Tanner, 37% of employees said recognition from their boss is most important, while 24% said recognition from their peers is most important. In another survey by Achievers, 93% of employees who feel valued at work said they are motivated to do their best.

So, how can you celebrate Employee Appreciation Day? Here are some ideas: 

  1. Host a company-wide event or party, such as a team lunch or happy hour.
  2. Hold a recognition ceremony with certificates and small gifts of appreciation (personalized stationery, chocolates, plaques, movie vouchers).
  3. Create a “Wall of Appreciation”, post it in the staffroom or other prominent space and encourage employees to write a note of appreciation throughout the day. Use colorful post-it notes and marker pens to add vibrancy.
  4. Give employees opportunities for professional development, such as paying for a course or conference registration. LinkedIn Learning subscriptions are also be a valuable gesture.
  5. Create a calendar with significant dates. For example, work anniversaries, birthdays and personal achievements. Make a note to celebrate these occasions throughout the year to say, “We see you, we appreciate you and we celebrate what you bring to our organization”.

Employee Appreciation Day is occurring on Friday, 3rd March 2023 and is an excellent opportunity for organizations to recognize and appreciate their employees’ contributions.
